Monteena Lane is a registered nurse, mom and a figure competitor. She knows how important it is to be able to maintain good health as a woman, fitness enthusiast and even a figure competitor. As a woman in her 50s, she could relate to the slow metabolism, lack of motivation or even gravity. We all can relate to the “gravity” attempting to take a front and back seat to our natural physique. A few years ago, she was diagnosed with Sjogren’s syndrome. This autoimmune disorder is caused by an abnormal production of extra antibodies in the blood that can affect various tissues of the body. Being strong-willed and in control, Monteena decided to deal with this disorder head on. She was determined to be in complete control of my body and my destiny. She put more focus on my health and wellness. I set short and long-term goals that were fulfilling. One of my goals was to compete in a figure competition. I trained hard and maintained a healthy diet, and all her success was ten-fold. She have won multiple figure titles, and my journey continues.
