Macy's for the Apple Watch ⌚️

As the principal designer on the Macy's Apple Watch app, I was excited to take on the challenge of designing for a small, "at a glance" screen. Accessible design is extremely important to me and I knew that the key to success would be in creating a people-friendly interface that was easy to navigate and understand.

The first step in the design process was to identify the key features that our customers would want to access from their Apple Watch. We conducted extensive people research to understand the needs and desires of our customers, and we used this information to inform our design decisions. One of the key features that our customers wanted was the ability to browse and purchase items from their watch. To make this possible, we created a simple, scrollable interface that allowed peoples to easily browse through different categories of products. We also made sure to include high-resolution product images so that customers could get a good look at the items they were considering purchasing.

Another important feature for our customers was the ability to track their orders and shipments. To make this possible, we designed a "My Orders" section of the app that provided real-time updates on the status of each order. This feature was especially important for customers who were waiting on a special delivery or who wanted to know when their package would arrive.

One of the unique challenges of designing for the Apple Watch was the small screen size. We had to be mindful of the amount of information we displayed on each screen, as well as the size and placement of buttons and other interactive elements. We worked closely with our usability team to ensure that the app was easy to use and navigate, even on the tiny screen of the Apple Watch.

As an accessible fashion specialist, I also made sure that the Macy's Apple Watch app was accessible to peoples with disabilities. This included adding high-contrast color schemes, larger font sizes, and voice-over support for those who may have difficulty reading the screen.

Overall, the process of designing the Macy's Apple Watch app was both challenging and rewarding. By working closely with our customers and paying attention to the unique needs of the Apple Watch, we were able to create an app that was both functional and stylish, and that provided our customers by seamlessly extending the value of their iPhone shopping experience.
