The Messthetics gigposter for their Sacramento appearance 2019

For some reason I’m in a bit of a creative beast mode of late. I’m really wanting to break off rail from my usual styles and in some ways return to my roots toward graphics and away from #illustration for these recent pieces. The most common complement I get is “I love the colors” followed by something about textures. So for this newest piece I decided to take both out of the equation. One color. One tone. One texture. And working within that  to create something more type and shape based. Deconstructed kinetic type and a touch of Swiss design thrown in around the margins. 
This poster for next weeks appearance by The Messthetics in Sacramento with Craig Wedren and Drug Apts.
seemed like a perfect chance to flex this experiment. The Messthetic are Brendan and Joe from Fugazi’s instrumental act and Shudder to Think frontman and film soundtracker Craig Wedren opens the show with support from local act Drug Apts. 
These will be given out as ultra limited souvenir gigposters at the show. A rich black print on speckled metallic silver paper.
