Messenger's icon was recently updated, subtle but enough to notice when they're paired side by side on the home screen. As a result, the current Facebook icon looks dated. I decided to transpose the style of the new icon to the Facebook app.

Let's hope Facebook does this officially soon!
Done the same (for personal use) the first day Messenger's icon got updated but never thought of sharing it..
Anyway, nice! And I also agree with Matt.
Looks good !
Great thing. Wanted to do that, too, but now you did.

I was thinking the same thing a few days ago.
Nice work. Posted about this on Twitter a couple days back.
Maybe they'll update the icon when they release the new version of their iOS app. http://bit.ly/MpYPVK
@Yanlu what exactly is your problem? Both are Facebook icons that will be done by Facebook in the end, In my opinion Kris executed a lot better by exactly matching Facebook's Messages icon shadow and all.
@Adrian Kenny haha yes. I think I overreacted a little bit ;) That happens when you listen to the wrong music..
Btw nice work @Kris Mendoza :)
I noticed this too.. Yours looks soo nice.
