Great, Ekaterinburg is a nice city.
love the nice leather texture ! Made from scratch or stock ?
@Sorin Jurcut Thanks a lot. I played with different stock leather images for creating pattern, even rendered some 3D. But the final result was made almost from scratch.
I like skeuomorphism in interfaces that makes users feel like touching the real world object. IMO that makes sense especially for touch UIs.
I agree. But the most important part is that it gives the user the feeling of added value. Plus it also acts like a decoration object. Kind of like the same concept that's used in packaging. If you make a package design that especially good-looking, the person will think twice before throwing it away. :)
@Sorin Jurcut So true. Right now I'm writing email to argue with my client about package. He wants to lower package manufacturing price by using cheap materials.
Package is the tool to catch attention, it's very important.
PS I still have all my iPads, Macs, iPhones and even Mighty Mouse packages. I collect them as a good examples of great design :)
