Mordor Marathon 2019

I remember my first experience with these stories. It was opening night of the first film in a small Oklahoma town. Family was making a rest stop on the way to see relatives for Xmas. We practically saw the movie on accident. I had no idea what it was, and no idea what phenom I was about to invite into my life. It blew me away. I soaked it in like a sponge. And I’ve paid homage to it ever since.

The amount of toys I had (ok, have), the multiple versions of DVDs I’ve purchased and re purchased, and the countless hours I’ve spent using my personal talents to create my own version of this world have all been completely worth it to me. It’s nostalgia, it’s creativity and it’s community.

This is an illustration I made in celebration of the annual movie marathon I host each year. I really wanted to lean into the meaning of marathon and give it a vintage running/track feel. I'm pairing this with a lot of other fun branding and goodies that my guests will receive. More to come!
