Idea Concept - Zero Waste Guide

Story In the last years zero waste became a bigger topic than ever. It’s a movement which is among us a long time, but now is the time it finally gets more attention. I also been researching this topic in my own interest for a couple of months now. The thing I noticed is, that there is a lot of content and material out there, but it’s hard to wrap your head around it. It’s so much, that it’s overwhelming and people might tend to get lost in the millions of blogs, Instagram and YouTube Channels.

Idea To design the entrance into the whole zero waste world more easier, I came up with the idea to create a sort of “styleguide” - a guide to find an easy access into zero waste. The topic is very important and it should be easy for everyone to understand and most importantly where you can do something - even small things - and what alternatives are available.

When talking to friends and family it’s easy to notice that the knowledge of what zero waste is is there, but the knowledge of what to do with it is missing.

Examples What’s an alternative to Q-tips? Where do I get solid shampoo? And: Holy shit - I didn’t know there are sustainable condoms!

Execution The guide could either be a website, or an app. The content is divided by rooms and various topics. It could all be illustrated - but to make it easier for everyone there also could be straight forward affiliated links to product recommendations. In the end it’s about to make the start into zero waste smooth, time-saving and not frustrating. The guide will not replace all the valuable content that’s already out there - it will guide to it.

Let me know what you think about it. Thanks for reading!
