Liquor Lacquer: A cheeky cocktail book

Liquor Lacquer is a cocktail book that I concepted, researched, wrote copy for and designed. Inspired by “lookbooks” that models give out during auditions and the beautiful photography from this Into the Gloss post, I wanted to find a way to create a layout incorporating the two. I chose cocktail books because they’re something my husband and I like to collect and I felt it leant itself to a more robust creative writing challenge.

The tone of voice is inspired by a cheeky, millennial who you would find in modeling hubs like Los Angeles or New York. The layout is inspired by fine art and some of my favorite spreads from magazines like Bon Appétit. Although minimal, I believe that the stylish photography and simple, yet elegant type overlay creates an interesting and engaging read with a plucky author.
