I'm working on the iPad version of the site.

If you hover over the cite in the desktop version, it gets converted to a permalink allowing you to right click it and share it.

Since there's no "on hover" event on the iPad, the permalink is always shown. This way the user can tap, select, copy and paste where desired.

Then again, Responsive Design not only means hiding columns, but truly understanding the medium where the site is going to work and offering proper functionality: the experience is different.
