Via Volare

Via Volare is a produce import and distribution company based in Chicago, IL. The owners of Via Volare are proud natives of Sardinia, Italy and have been in the produce and culinary industry for decades. Sardinia is a island off the coast of Italy and is known for its beautiful ocean views and ancient Nuraghe, which are stone huts built over 10,000 years ago. The client made it very clear from the beginning that they wanted these Nuraghe incorporated into the logo somehow. They also wanted the logo to be elegant but modern and simple.

For this logo I wanted to incorporate imagery that represented not only the business itself but the essence of Sardinia as well. The final logo incorporates three major components of Sardinia and Via Volare; First and most obvious is the Nuraghe which sit proudly in the middle of the logo. Second, is the rolling waves which represents the ocean surrounding the island of Sardinia. Lastly, I incorporated wheat or grain stalks which represents the produce they import and distribute across the world.

Gold and black were used to achieve a elegant, quality touch, while sharp san serif font was used to give the logo a modern feel
