Tacoma Defiance Concept Badge

I generally don't like to dump on new work and take a red pen to someone else's stuff because who the hell am I? I wasn't there to see the brief, I don't know the client, and I don't know the budget. But I hate to see a rad idea wasted by substandard execution.

So I created my concept badge for the new USL soccer club in Tacoma, Washington using their direction as the starting point. I wanted the giant pacific octopus to take a larger presence, overwhelm the shield, and display its raw power and massive and much more exaggerated scale as it's bearing down on the USS Point Defiance ship.
