Sunrise at the Cape

I was playing around with Trapcode Mir in After Effects, and felt like making a relaxing ocean sunrise scene. This was a fun little experiment.

The ocean was created with Mir, and the sailboat was traced in Illustrator from an old photo of mine. I used Duik for some very subtle animation on the sailor, and I used the Math.sin() expression for the swaying motions on the boat and camera. I used fractal noise for the mist and stratus clouds, and a Trapcode lens flare for the sunrise. If you look super closely, you might even see the bound sails flapping lightly in the breeze.
