Bioengineered Organs Smithsonian

Top of a vertical spread for Smithsonian magazine. A lot of research was required for this piece, from interviewing scientists to working with imagery from a variety of sources for reference. The figure started as a stock model of a skeleton and body, then I built organs and blood vessels for both the figure and the insets of organs and body parts, The insets depict organs and structures that scientists have been able to produce from a patients own cells, thus avoiding rejection.
