Brand identity for Sakura. Sakura provides underserved entrepreneurs with access to credit to start and grow their business.

For the "S" mark I was inspired by a "House of Cards Deck" and a mock-up where business cards are flying through the air (I'm sure you're familiar with those). Initially I started with filled cards for the logo mark but in the end they felt too heavy combined with the typography. the solution was to outline the mark with the same thickness as the type. (Attached is a visual explanation).
