Joulukalenteri

Joulukalenteri, "christmas calendar" in Finnish, is a tiny Mac app I created for myself a few years back to count down the days until christmas. I wanted something that was fun but also embodied some of the feelings that I associate with Finnish christmas: no fancy blinking lights, just peace and quiet with good food, good company, candles and sauna.

The left number is the current date, whilst the right is days until christmas. The candles appear in the evening, and are coloured blue and white on the 6th of December, as is the tradition. Clicking on the window pops out a simple, horizontal timeline of upcoming days.
