Personal Website Redesign

This is the start to my redesign of my website. I'd like to note that I'm not a 'designer' persay, but I'm working hard to get a grip on the subtleties including typography, texture, depth, shadows, etc.

Would love feedback, either positive or negative, but definitely constructive.
