Where it all began ...

MUCH BETTER PHOTO ATTACHED!

Wow, first thanks to David Pache for this great rebound idea. Damn, this makes me feel old and I wish I had a better photo of my first design job, but this will have to do. I drew this poster for Panic when I was in college. The poster was done entirely by hand - no computer used until the final drum scan. Let me preface this with the fact that I was majoring in English and Philosophy - a career as a graphic designer hadn't even crossed my mind!

I was going for something like an early Fillmore poster. To me, a dragon standing on top of the world was 'Widespread Panic.' I had been going to see the band since I heard them on the radio on 'Peach Jam' in the late '80's and really wanted to do a poster for them. I created the poster using art markers and it went through many revisions. It was my first design job and I can't think of a better way to kick-off my design career. I was paid in tickets and backstage passes, worked for me!
