One of our core values at TaxJar is "We do the right thing for our customers," and this mindset is something we embed in everything we do from supporting our customers to building new features.
Recently, we've been rethinking the billing experience and how we can more effectively communicate the flexibility of our billing plans. As such, we've redesigned the upgrade experience for trialing users to recommend plans based on data received during their trial and introduced the concept of "flex charges."
So, instead of surprising users with overage fees, we'll simply notify them when approaching the limit then temporarily upgrade their plan if the limit is surpassed. This way, businesses never skip a beat during peak holiday seasons, and they transparently understand what happens when their limit is exceeded.
