In the 2010 World Cup knockout game between England and Germany, England were trailing by a goal. Frank Lampard shot the ball which hit the underside of the crossbar, resulting in it crossing the line into the goal but bouncing back into the field of play due to backspin. The goal wasn't given and England went on to lose the game 4–1.
