Zona Sul Nights cover

Zonal Sul Nights is a misterious novel (were I'm also a character) writen by a friend of mine about his real adventures in Brazil.
On this story he mixes fiction with reality and create an imersive narrative with pieces of psychoanalytic concepts like "death drive" in Freud. Soon the book will be available online as an e-book.
Author: RJ Dyar

Synopsis
Disillusioned with academic life and recently dumped by his girlfriend in favour of her thesis supervisor, Vincent Langley has just arrived in Rio de Janeiro, hungry for change and ready to say yes to everything.

He befriends a rag tag group of expatriates and locals with whom he stumbles between the dizzying inversions and baffling discontinuities of the city’s South Zone. From the glitz of Ipanema to the backwater drug dens of Copacabana. From the debauchery of the Lapa night scene to the despondency and improbable beauty of the notorious favelas.

Little by little the lines between reality and illusion, fear and paranoia, ecstasy and despair become increasingly blurred, and what at first seemed like a dalliance with the thrilling and risqué quickly turns into a waking nightmare from which he may not return.
