This week's kanban art for Sprint 69 features the pride flag. June is pride month, in commemoration of the Stonewall Riots and police raids that happened 49 years ago in 1969... how cool is it that our sprint team is working on sprint 69. You can't make this stuff up, the timing is incredible!
Why the black and brown stripe? Why not the traditional six colors? In 2017, the City of Philadelphia added the two additional stripes as an inclusionary way to highlight black and brown LGBTQIA members within the community. While the two extra stripes haven't gone mainstream yet, I like to include them wherever I can.
More recently, Lena Waithe was spotted wearing a pride cape at the 2018 Met Gala; the cape featured the extra stripes and I was living for it.
Happy pride and good luck doing the design thing this week, folks. xo
