If you're an economy brand, don't talk to people who tend to raise their pinkies. If you're selling steak knives, steer clear of vegan food festivals. When you follow the old marketing tradition of casting the widest net possible, you'll inevitably catch your share of throwbacks. Better to shoot straight for the bull's eye.
