Here are the double pages of "Art'chitecture's" cover article about minimalism. The layout of this magazine is based on the notions of space & structure.

To represent structure visually, we were inspired by Mies Van der Rohe’s modern architectures, that are dominated by their visible structure. Yet, structure doesn't mean boring. For example, if we look at Van der Rohe's "Barcelona Pavilion", we can see that the offsets between the interior dividers create a visible dynamism in the building.

That's the same in this magazine. The rigid grid used by its layout echoes the modernist roots of contemporary architecture and the idea of structure that is conveyed by the general notion of architecture. Although the grid created is pretty rigid it allows for some dynamism that is mainly created by the offsets between texts and images.
