Over the past few months I've been had the privilege to work on one of the most meaningful projects in my career. I recently led the design of a new home page for Freedom United, the world's largest movement against modern slavery and human trafficking.

Over 40 million people are enslaved in the world today in different forms: forced labor, prostitution, domestic servitude, forced marriage and more. Slavery is a booming criminal industry. Forced labor generates over $150 billion a year in illegal profits. It’s the 2nd largest industry behind drugs. One of our aims at Freedom United is to wake people up to the clandestine crime of slavery that is happening all around them and to empower them to live a lifestyle of abolition.

I met their CEO, Joe Schmidt at a coffee shop a few months back where he shared his story about his exit from his prior business and how he inherited this non profit, originally named WalkFree, from Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest for $1. A few weeks later I ended up moving into their offices and working alongside his organization to complete overhaul his engagement platform, beginning with this home page. We'll be rolling out new pages and revisions to the platform over the next several months.
