Estes Park, CO

Estes postcard 02

It's kind of a touristy spot nowadays, but Estes Park is a place that I have been going just about every year since I was 4-years-old (I'm 30 now, dang!). We used to take a week-long trip every summer as a family, and now my wife and I escape the city and head to Rocky Mountain National Park as often as we can...which is still not often enough for my tastes!

This is a photo we took at Sprague Lake on the first day of our trip in June of 2010. Since we live in Chicago (flat, flat Chicago), we typically don't do any hiking on the first day. Because of this, Sprague Lake, with it's level path around the entire lake, is a great destination to help us adjust to the altitude while taking in the fantastic scenery.
