Descending a Staircase

The Nude Descending a Staircase No. 3 is a GIF I’ve created, inspired by the painting of Marcel Duchamp, “Nude Descending a Staircase No. 2” – 1912 and the stop-motion photography of Étienne-Jules Marey, “Woman Walking Downstairs” from his 1887 picture series, published as The Human Figure in Motion.

With this GIF, I’ve tried to create a new perspective of Duchamp painting and bring it closer to his own influence which is the “Woman Walking Downstairs”. With simple lines and the new technologies, I’ve been able to give the sense and my opinion of how Duchamp conceived the idea to create his revolutionary painting.
