So here’s my homepage concept for the #SPACEDchallenge in conjunction with the Epicurrence gathering being hosted and put on by Dann Petty.

So this concept strays a bit from the brief but I wanted to try something a little different and have some fun. I tried to experiment with a slightly more playful concept of space travel to make it more appealing to a wider demographic and in particular, the 25-45 target audience. Removing some of the apprehension that potential customers might associate with space travel was a main goal of this homepage design.
Unfortunately I ran out of time so I didn’t get the chance to animate the header with some background video and to demonstrate how the flight search functionality works. I've attached a static example of how the flight search functionality on the homepage would work.
I also wanted the header of the page to be almost entirely focused on flight search rather than a campaign message or generic banner.
I hadn’t planned on going into a lot of detail with the logo but ended up creating something based off an idea that came about from some sketches I did. I thought I'd also have a go at creating a concept for the brand as I was having so much fun!
I ended up creating the idea for the brand after I designed the website concept so some of the ideas in the brand are a little different to the design flavour in my homepage concept. You can find my SPACED brand concept over here.
