Messing with type

I started messing around with some custom type for a wordmark a little while back and eventually blew it out into a lowercase set. This is my first time diving into type design, so I really don't know if I'm doing things right. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Edit: decided to ad an attachment for everyone, as it's kinda tough to judge the intricacies of 26 characters from a 400x300 pixel image.
