Another old poster that I unearthed tonight. Circa 2003.
I am a huge fan of the work of David Carson. His Ray Gun magazine layouts to his work with Nine Inch Nails were so inspirational. His creative and experiment layout and type treatments made a huge impact on me as a designer and as a fan of graphic design.
In college, I invited him to give a talk at our design school. He came and talked about breaking all the rules of design and pissing off "real" designers. I thought he was the coolest. I still do.
A couple of us made posters for the event. He was later kind enough to include them in his book, Trek.
