Clubs: Re-Inventing Education

Introducing Clubs, a new type of online-only school that has no subjects.

The divisions between math and logic, music and poetry, science and history have been arbitrarily pushed on students for much of modern educational history. This false paradigm for knowledge "as a subject" reduces creativity—the ability to see connections between seemingly unrelated ideas.

Since information is free and ubiquitous, we need an affordable, discussion-centered model for education that takes advantage of several recent innovations in technology.

The best lectures are free and available online to everyone, so active discussion needs to become the primary activity of education.

A student will choose thinkers and books and then discuss the interrelated ideas with peers and a discussion leader.
