V9.0 Case Study - Internships

I redesigned my website this month. This time I put in a lot of work into some case studies summarizing part of what I've been doing for the past four years.

This is my favourite case study. I don't think we talk enough as an industry about how design process can be applied to a lot of different types of problems out there.

The intern program was a product of love for me, I spent six months coordinating people and writing documentation to craft the 'perfect' experience for both the company and the intern. It was really interesting to be able to 'test my mettle' so-to-speak against my 'subjects' (people) instead of pixels.

Inside of a company, starting a project like this involves a lot of commitment. People aren't very predictable and it's difficult to ask anyone to contribute to a cause you believe in. Thankfully, I did it within the context of a team who pitched in to help make this vision come to life.

I believe Design has a place beyond simply mock-ups and companies should ask more of their designers.

This also happens to be one of my favourite case studies because the design heavily relies on illustration by @Burnt Toast Creative Scott is a wonderful illustrator and I was so delighted to have his work featured.

Feel free to ask questions in the comments! ❤
