UX: Preference Tests

Hey, @folks!

Here is an unused UI iteration I collaborated on at Meitu headquarters with one other designer.

I was then teaching the team about the UX method of remote preference testing on www.usabilityhub.com. Due to our varied audience, we decided it was best to target to both Chinese and English speaking users from the website's user pool. However, how could we approach this bilingual challenge?

We originally considered sending out 2 different tests with the UI copy changed on each.

We then set up this test to combine both translations in the instructions, while leaving the UI copy in Chinese.

We determined that the combined test will work effectively, only if the answers we need are not reliant on the copy. This saved us some time. Why craft two versions when we don't have to?

Don't forget to press "L" if you like it.

You can also say "hi" to me on Twitter at www.twitter.com/kaseyjwang.

Cheers!
