We had some great moments, played with force, and put up the shots. But ultimately last night was a downward spiral we just couldn’t recover from.

Like Game 1, the Jackets pushed early in Period 1 and pelted the Pens with pucks. We looked good. And then there was the bobble when Bob came out of the net to play the puck behind the net, and he just took too long. Sheary stormed Bob, took the puck and passes it to the waiting Penguins who easily pushed it into an empty net.

Even though we held off the rest of the period and Saad scored 7 minutes into the second, it wasn’t enough. 51 seconds later Pittsburgh responded with a 2 on 1 breakaway that beat Bob. The night ended with the Pens on top 4-1. The next game will be at Nationwide Arena and I know the Jackets will rally. Although the CBJ have only scored more than three goals one time in its last 13 games, I have a feeling that the 5th Line will inspire some cannon fire.
