The taste of progress

Sorry in advance for turning this dribbble post into sort of an angsty, contemplative tumblr post of sorts.

It's always hard for me when I feel like I've solved a problem to it's fullest and that solution doesn't translate the way the client wants it to. I took a bold move on an identity project that i'm working on right now: I tried to solve all of the supporting imagery with photography. I wanted to reduce the imagery to only the essential elements for communication. I was really excited about these images when I handed them on. But unfortunately, the client was not. And such is life.

It's always hard for me when it doesn't work, but it always seems to be the place where I grow the most. I've worked with this particular client before, and it's pretty much always been an incredible experience. At this point, we have grown to be good friends and we have developed a great working relationship. I owe a lot of my thinking and process today to him, especially for pushing back on things before.

So here's to saying saying goodbye to these images, and hoping (and praying repeatedly) for something better (and quick too).
