There’s a paradox that states the more you talk about the things you want to do the more your brain is convinced you've already done them, making you much less likely to actually ever accomplish them. For example, if you mention you always wanted to go backpacking in Iceland, and you tell everyone about it, you are less likely to take the trip because your mind has already exercised its daydreaming capabilities and believes you’ve gone– satisfying the urge to actually go.
