Jump Cuts: Demystified

For my book. When I want to explain what the "Web of Jump Cuts" is, I use a clip from a movie where the camera cuts between a man and a woman having a conversation. There is no panning between them, just completely different images being displayed on after the other. Directors can use tricks like gaze and direction of movement to keep from confusing audiences.

But "jump cut" interfaces have no such sleights of hand. Whatever can we do?
