Martin Luther King Jr.

This artwork was based on a photograph from one of Martin Luther King's famous speeches. When I was illustrating this piece, I wasn't sure if I should include the two men at the background because I was trying to create a balance between negative and positive spaces so that the focus remains on Mr. King.

I decided to keep them however, and think that the inclusion of the policeman subtly hints at the social discourse and challenges of Mr. King's era.

There is colour discrepancy with the glass print. However, I think this piece is most the dynamic in the series as it captures a moment of time about a man and his dream.
