Vertical breadcrumbs

Any way to make the "breadcrumb" links at the top stand out more? Trying to make it easy for a user to know they are links that will take them to parent records.

Normally breadcrumbs are left-to-right text, but I need the real estate in the top toolbar where I usually put breadcrumbs. My solution was to put the breadcrumbs as horizontal links at the top of a child card. The "Workflow Template" and "Milestone" sections are actually links that go to those parent pages.

Another reason I'm displaying them this way, is that if you go down another level the breadcrumbs become very long and unwieldy if you lay them out horizontally.
