The Project: Following the success of the Kobe VI iD Facebook tab, NIKEiD worked again with the JESS3 team to create an enhanced version of the interactive application that enables people to customize and purchase their own Nike Free Run 2iD—Nike’s latest running shoe to hit NIKEiD.com.
Our Methodology: In addition to the state of the art customization and shareability people experienced with the Kobe VI iD Facebook tab, the JESS3 team worked to ensure that users could now sort designs by “Most Recent,” “Most Liked,” and “Designs by Country,” as well as visualize the designs in thumbnail or gallery view. Users can also view their own designs and check out what their friends have created—“Liking” their favorites.
The Results: More than 30,000 user-designed Nike Free Run 2 iD running shoes have been created so far, which helped establish the Free Run 2 iD as the global best selling product since launch. After the app went live, NIKEiD’s Facebook page saw an astounding 218,510 new “likes,” a 70% increase for the brand. The app itself has received 5,000 “likes”.
