Principia Mathematica - Sir Isaac Newton

Principia Mathematica - Sir Isaac Newton

This portrait of Sir Isaac Newton (estimated IQ of 180 to 200) is a carefully mapped averaging of four known portraits that may begin to capture a closer semblance of the young physicist's appearance.

To create of this image, I first aligned two sets of portraits before computationally rendering each outcome into a new set, to then repeat the process for a final rendering.

Since each portrait artist captured a specific moment in time, this process depicts not Newton himself, but a generalized equivalent of a twin.

In 1685 Newton composed the Principia Mathematica, widely regarded as one of the most important works in both the science of physics and in applied mathematics.
