Alternate Wordmark

Here are some media day shots of the Tulsa basketball team reppin' the new alternate wordmark. In keeping with the brand's primary script, we continued the use of an oblique typographic posture, consistent outlining proportions, and rounded corners. Aside from that we took a more progressive approach on this versus the script, opting for a simplified and modern wordmark in a horizontal layout in an effort to contrast the over-abundance of more traditional, arched marks. Overall, it's an interesting (and hopefully successful) marriage between a more traditional ID system and a modern block-style wordmark. Also, my favorite part...if you look closely at the letters, you can find a nod to their name, The Golden Hurricane, with the S's terminals creating a subtle hurricane swirling motion.
