Wind Cave National Park

We're excited to be a part of Type Hike's typogrpahical exploration of America's National Parks in celebration of 100 years.

Type Hike is a collaborative design project including 59 designers and typographers, each of whom will created a unique design for a park they love in celebration of the National Parks Service centennial.

We were tasked with taking on Wind Cave National Park in Hot Springs, South Dakota, one of the longest and most complex caves in the world. The cave is known for its blades of calcite that project from cave walls and ceilings, forming a honeycomb pattern. We've created a similar effect to give texture to the type.
