I was approached to improve the user experience of See Word Reading, an iPad app that helps young students learn to read through various activities meant to reinforce phonetic sounds and spelling, and See Word Reading Teacher, which allows teachers to create classes and custom lessons.
As part of the project I had to consider the best way to design and implement multi-peer data synchronization between the student and teacher apps as both do not rely on active Internet connections. Student accounts, classes, and custom lessons all needed to be created via the Teacher app and then transmitted over Bluetooth to nearby Student apps.
Overall, the project has been a success and will soon be released for school districts to purchase.
