8x Life

This is a WIP for a new brand I'm doing: 8X Life.
Tagline might be something like "Take the path of most resilience".

References are a Japanese proverb "Nana korobi ya oki" (literally: seven falls, eight getting up) or Fall down seven times and get up eight.
Another reference is in the Bible found in Proverbs 24:16 (NLT) "The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked."

I've always loved MC Escher and so it's a little like that.

8X: the mark is the number '8' (or vertical infinity symbol). With the added dimension, there's an 'X' in the middle.
I was wanting to develop a personal brand as well, and since this proverb and the Emily Dickinson quote "Dwell in Possibility" are my two life mantras, this could represent me as well.

As it turns out, my initials are DB and I'm a musician, so within the mark there are also the lower case initials 'd' and 'b' that you could view as being represented as mirrored eighth notes (they have the single flag on the top of the stem). See what I did there? Level after level after level. Sort of like Inception with a dream in a dream in a dream in an MC Esher-esque world.

I probably think way too much about this all. Exploring some typefaces currently and playing with various monochromatic color styles.

*Warning, things are even calculated on 1.61803398875 (golden ratio).
