Here's a better idea of what I have in mind visually and where it's heading. It's still rough around the edges, but we're making forward progress.

Like the idea of bringing some of the Sifter branding into the UI Garrett. Looking great.
I love this. Makes me want to click.
Beautiful, Garrett. Totally addresses my previous comment. Looks great (and clickable too!)
Really dig that progress bar :)
Thanks, all. Now, if only we can get caught up on our enhancement backlog so I can finish and implement this.
Looks beautiful, exciting stuff. Congrats on your move to full-time Sifter work as well.
Beautiful work. Love the colors, textures, type. Nicely done Garrett.
Like much of this (all???!), but especially like the settings button.
Loving the separation of elements going on here, Garrett. The sifter woodgrain looks amazing. Button looks great. Progress bar looks great. Love how the color of the settings gear provides a visual connection to the grey border on the right. I have no complaints. Keep posting!
All, I should mention that several of the visual elements are taken from the SifterApp.com redesign that Jared Christensen made and we haven't made live yet. I'm simply adapting them to new application interface.

I've updated the lower section so that it doesn't use the woodgrain. I've also updated the milestone bar so that the statuses more clearly relate to the colors in the bar.
The only thing I don't love about this is that it's not as obvious that the white box revolves around the selected milestone in this context.
