My newest poster is an album release poster for Sacramento band Life in 24 Frames. They contacted me last winter about doing artwork for their upcoming album CTRL+Z, which this poster announces (album coming late summer/early fall)
The illustration is inspired by a style I've been wanting to try out for the longest time pulling from elements of 70s drugstore paperback sci-fi, Eastern European animation, and practical-era special effects. In LI24F I was lucky to find a band that was not only interested in letting me explore that style, but they actually asked me to.
There were a number of times while working on this one that I nearly gave up. I could "see" what I wanted in my head but I just wasn't getting it onto the page. Fortunately, I pushed myself forward and it all came together in the end.
