No matter how deep our memories of one another may be buried they are still there. Like bright stars shining through a haze we can still come to find them. Those we hold dear and the moments we shared, no matter how fleeting, live on through us.

As a child I remember seeing my Uncle Alvaro mostly every time we went to visit my maternal grandparents house in Mexico. He lived the farthest away, but always made an effort to drive over during the weekends. I admired how connected he stayed with the family. He was a fun and intelligent man with almost the same interests and humor as my dad. Being both engineers they would always talk about the latest technology, engineering, and space. Even though I can't recall any specifics I do remember I enjoyed overhearing those conversations. I had no idea what it all meant, but I tried to keep up if only for a little.

In loving memory to my tío y padrino Alvaro Eduardo Montemayor Pinto who passed away last Thursday May 12, 2016. May he rest in peace and may his family, friends, and coworkers find solace in his memory and one another.
