Photo Edit - Softbox Reflection

WOW it is like the hot spot was never there!!! Hehe, not my most exciting piece but it is well done. I shop all sorts of hardware pieces together and the hot spot on the left wasn't working outside of its' original setting. Taking away the softbox reflection makes the scanner look less reflective but still nice and polished.

How? I used Photoshop brushes with varying layers, opacity, flow and the eye dropper tool and manually painted this in. It went pretty quick and I just masked the manual brushes and blended the mask into the original. Went pretty quick. This isn't something I would have been able to pull off as quickly two years ago, I owe this progress to my progress in genre illustration and more closely observing light.

My goal here was to make the scanner blend with a different cashdrawer and computer. It was successful but those images are too distracting so I show the closeup here.

What do you think? Is the paint-over believable?
