Postcard Welcome Screen

I'm working on the welcome screen for the app. There will be some more text in the "lets get started" section, but I haven't written that copy yet. I'm having a hard time picking colors for this. I definitely like the style on the right more than the left, but what color should the postcard text be?! My favorite is the red to orange gradient, but that would be the only gradient in the whole app. Design was inspired by those "Greetings from [location]" postcards.
