Hamburg Kubernetes Meetup Logo

The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg has a cool logo; It includes a nice curved line, wave reference, in the logo speaking to the city's stature as a port hub on the river Elbe.

Hamburg is also the second largest city in Germany, and it's university also leverages a variant of the city's logo in it's branding. Variations are also seen in flag and coat of arms. Strong game Hamburgers - wait, what. Yes - apparently, the citizens are called Hamburgers, bonus!

Is all this consistent use of iconography a result of Hamburg's status as a commercial center? Maybe ... Needless to say, it was impossible to resist the temptation to leverage this icon in my design; it also made it easier - hey, pushing these pixels is a time boxed activity. Also, the image provided me the opportunity to break away from the design direction set forth in the previous pieces in this series.
